Job Overview

The Clinical Informatics System Analyst will own all aspects of data management of IQVIA EMR to EDC and Inteliquet solutions including accessing, validating, and storing data that is needed for research and day-to-day business operations. The Clinical Informatics System Analyst will be a liaison between engineering, data architecture, and data privacy and work closely with the EMR to EDC Product Owner/Product Manager on EMR to EDC data solutions. May be involved in origin development and creation of EMR to EDC solution(s) data management. 

Essential Functions

  • Will be responsible for defining and confirming the shape and content of EMR to EDC and Inteliquet’s data

  • Organize, implement, and enforce correct data collection policies and methods

  • Work with key stakeholders to help define their requirements and translate their needs through the implementation of cutting-edge data solutions to provide valuable insights

  • Must have a deep understanding of industry-standard clinical code sets including standards of care and ontology

  • Must create tools and techniques to measure data quality

  • Streamline data collection and analysis procedures to ensure fast access to metrics

  • Generate and review documentation for all database changes or refinements

  • Review data for inconsistencies or anomalies that could skew analytical results

  • Identify and prioritize data attributes for EMR to EDC and Inteliquet central repository

  • Have an ability to test ETL and ensure the quality of ETL processes

  • Determine integration points for next-generation sequencing (NGS) molecular reporting

  • Make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage upgrades

  • Communicate with managers and staff about proposed data changes or requirements

  • Participate and provide technical leadership in all phases of a project from discovery and planning through implementation and delivery

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to proactively develop data solutions to bring to market to support the needs of our healthcare clients

  • Ensure data comply with privacy regulations and requirements including USA’s HIPAA Security policies and procedures.

  • When needed support data architecture

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with clinical data, design, and development of enterprise data solutions and integration

  • Master's degree in an information science field (nursing informatics, clinical informatics, health informatics, etc.) strongly preferred

  • Experience in the health care industry, CRO, or biopharma

  • Expert knowledge of various healthcare industry data models and adapting those models to meet the needs of the client

  • Understanding of healthcare application ecosystem (i.e. EMR, EDC)

  • Familiarity with FHIR/HL7 and interoperability

  • Understanding of healthcare security (i.e. HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Must possess good numerical and analytical skills. This is necessary for the daily analysis and evaluation of data

  • Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, including a positive and professional attitude, ability to establish peer relationships internally across company departments and cross-functional and external teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work and multi-task in a dynamic, high-paced environment and effectively manage change.

  • High energy, self-motivated, approachable, and articulate team player able to perform with minimal supervision.

  • Display of good research and organizational abilities

  • Robust planning, decision-making, and process improvement skills, with a drive for continuous improvement and the ability to ensure procedures and processes are in place that leads to delivery of quality results.

  • Must be able to accomplish assignments/tasks with little or no supervision

  • Influence with and without authority in a cross-functional role.

  • Must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and be able to display excellent customer service skills

  • Must be able to think critically (out of the box) and also be able to pay complete attention to details

  • Must have good IT skills (including data evaluation/analysis using relevant computer applications)

  • Must have knowledge of working business standards that are relevant to the industry in which the organization operates

  • Review, understanding, and compliance with privacy regulations including USA’s HIPAA Security policies and procedures.
