Job Description Summary
BioFortis is a Columbia, MD-based software company focused on addressing the challenges in data-intensive environments. Our primary product is a platform for clinical trial sample and consent tracking, biobanking and clinical and translational research data management and exploration. We are seeking a Sales Executive.

Position Basic Functions and General Scope:

The SaaS Sales Executive, BioFortis (SSE) is a field-based sales position responsible for selling a SaaS based software platform for real-time clinical trial sample and consent tracking, and bio-banking in clinical and translational research.  The product is web based and enterprise compatible software sold on a study by study basis, program basis or a technology basis with licensed seats.  The Company is seeking a Sales Executive to address a diverse universe of customers ranging from Emerging Biopharma Companies to “Big Pharma”, to profitably grow business.  The SSE will focus on securing and retaining business through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities directed at decision-makers and decision influencers at the existing customer base and grow the customer base in the territory developing and expanding new business opportunities.  The SSE will establish and manage an effective business development program to maximize organizational growth in Biopharma companies as well as some named accounts in their assigned territory.  They will establish and maintain relationships with senior levels within customer organizations as well as within both BioFortis and Q2.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Actively prospect & leverage potential new business opportunities within target customers.

  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the customer organization within all accounts.

  • Build and Manage relationships with existing customers.

  • Maintain and expand the database of contacts within targeted organizations.

  • Aggressively pursue awareness of competition: Activities, Positioning, and Pricing.

  • Analyze potential opportunities and develop sales plans for each target account.

  • Ensure appropriate strategy/solution is proposed to customer monitoring actions and results.

  • Coordinate with contracts and proposals to develop proposal.

  • Work with BioFortis technical subject matter experts and prepares/leads presentation.

  • Educate team participants in customer culture, needs/methods and sales techniques.

  • Handle follow-up related to the sale and drive completion of contractual documents.

  • Adapt successful strategies and tactics to meet market demands and financial targets.

  • Maintain high visibility within customer organization.

  • Monitor customer satisfaction by communicating regularly with customer as appropriate.

  • Plan and coordinate all customer sales activities; appointments, demos, proposals, cold calls, and database updates.

  • Record and manage all customer sales related activities in Sales Force Automation.

  • Build a solid opportunity pipeline

  • Prepare sales activity report for Sales Management as required.

  • Serve as a liaison between the customer and technical group at BioFortis.

  • Maintain Business/Industry awareness and a thorough understanding of industry trends and impact on the business

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Understanding of Clinical Trials processes

  • Comfort in selling to CRO/Pharmaceutical customers

  • Conversationally familiar with SaaS versus internal server use, cloud operations and sample tracking

  • Proven track record with mid-level and high-level contacts.

    • Excellent analytical skills in assessing and interpreting customer business data and needs

    • Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite: MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel

    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

    • Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and customers

  • Preferred experience

  • Selling software solutions to sophisticated users, IT departments and Executives

  • Selling Enterprise Software in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare R&D settings

  • Selling Business Intelligence solutions
