Job Overview
With regional/site presence, manage a team of Biostatistics staff. May fulfill the role of site head or functional head within a site.  Provide direction and guidance in carrying out project assignments, interfacing with clients and other internal departments, and applying advanced statistical methods to project work.  Serve as a resource for the department, ensuring scientific integrity in the application of statistical methodology to Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies.  Assist the Director in strategic planning and resource allocation for the department. Participate by offering oversight across studies and/or customers including guidance on documentation and output development/review.  Assist the Director in proposal development, project allocation, budget projections, and client presentation, as needed.  

Primary Responsibilities 
•    Serve as the primary contact in biostatistics and provide scientific and methodological guidance to global clients, our biostatistics team, and other functional groups to ensure studies meet project objectives and regulatory requirements, as applicable
•    Provide senior biostatistical oversight and serve as biostatistics lead in projects ensuring scientific integrity in the application of statistical methodology to observational database studies
•    Manage teams of biostatisticians, as a line manager, including contributing to resourcing  
•    Lead or contribute to the training and mentorship of biostatisticians
•    Contribute to business development activities and proposal writing
•    Lead operational efficiencies of workflows, including writing or critical review of internal guidance documents (e.g., internal processes, best practices, SOPs and quality management documents)
•    Serve as main author of statistical analysis plans and contribute to feasibility study reports, protocols, study reports, and scientific publications


Qualifications
• Master's Degree Biostatistics or related field and 7-10 years relevant experience including 2 years experience managing staff Req Or
• Ph.D. Biostatistics or related field and 5 years relevant experience including 2 years experience managing staff Req
• Typically requires 7-10 years of prior relevant experience, including 2 years experience managing staff or Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Excellent time management skills, leading multiple projects with competing timelines, with the ability to effectively prioritize 
• Strong skills in RWE and in designing and executing prospective and/or retrospective epidemiological studies, including database analyses
• Familiarity with most complex statistical methods that apply to observational database studies.
• Previous experience utilizing large-scale patient-level healthcare database in Canada/US
• Strong working knowledge of R or SAS.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Sound judgment/decision making.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
