Sr Consultant, Sales Force Effectiveness, Commercial Solutions


The Sales Force Effectiveness Center of Excellence delivers on the full range of commercial sales operations engagements including flexible incentive compensation (IC) solutions that drives revenue and keeps our clients’ sales teams focused and engaged.  IQVIA delivers solutions with a mix of service and technology to help our clients design incentive compensation plans, set and manage quotas, and build and manage sales incentive plans.

Position Overview

Contributes to incentive compensation engagements of varying complexity, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery for clients in the pharmaceutical or related industries by combining software implementation, business analytics, and IC domain knowledge.

Essential Functions

  • Lead all aspects of IC projects including IC plan Design, Software Implementation and Ongoing Management to a successful outcome.
  • Implements and manages enterprise incentive compensation applications such as Callidus, IBM Incentive Compensation Management, Oracle Incentive Compensation (OIC), and Xactly.
  • Utilizes data transformation tools to manipulate large data sets for incentive compensation plan design and management.
  • Leverages business intelligence tools for building incentive compensation reports and dashboards.
  • Builds complex analytical simulation models for incentive compensation plan design engagements.
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplined teams including on- and off-shore team members.
  • Manages design, development, and delivery of client solutions for other project opportunities with minimal supervision.
  • Provides high level input to, and ensures the development of, client reports and presentations and delivers all or significant portions of findings to client at project conclusion.
  • Develops detailed project plans with timelines and leads projects to successful completion, on-time, and on-budget, from start to finish with little senior management guidance.
  • Recommends improvements and alternative solutions to resolve problems. Serves as key client-facing point of contact. Identifies, escalates, and proposes solutions to issues to appropriate authority.
  • Supervises, evaluates, and mentors Analysts, and Consultants.
  • Provides follow-up with client after project deliverable have been completed to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Proactively continues to strengthen subject matter expertise through on-the-job experience, participation in conferences and symposiums and other forums for professional knowledge sharing.
  • Proactively mentors, coaches and shares subject matter expertise with others to elevate our capabilities to deliver world-class solutions for clients.
  • Takes a leadership role in the completion of internal projects.


  • Strong academic track record including minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant graduate degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years professional experience in consulting, pharmaceutical and healthcare industry with evidence of career progression.
  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of pharmaceutical Sales/Commercial Operations including but not limited to: Incentive Compensation, Plan Design, Call Planning, Sales Force Effectiveness Analysis, Targeting, Segmentation, Geographic Territory Alignments, & Sales Force Sizing & Structures.
  • Strong team management qualities.
  • Experience analyzing pharmaceutical commercial data sources, trends and market dynamics and drawing actionable conclusions.
  • Demonstrable ability to draw significant relevant insights from potentially complex analyses or data sets and to effectively package and communicate those findings to clients.
  • Experience in and commitment to the life sciences and/or healthcare industries
  • A track record of leadership and dedication to people development
  • A willingness and ability to travel to client locations
  • An understanding of IQVIA data assets and core offerings
  • Strong Excel experience with ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets
  • Works willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals and is effective working in a matrix environment.
  • Experienced with developing consultative relationships with senior level managers and executives at clients in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, juggle priorities and deliver on tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools and techniques related to pharmaceutical Sales and Commercial Operations.
  • Knowledge of key issues and current developments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and client influencing skills
